"Baked Earth" is a forward-thinking bakery design concept utilizing Terracotta as its primary material. When embarking on this project, I delved into a thorough exploration of various construction materials to find one that could emulate the textures of different pastries. After careful consideration, I concluded that Terracotta, which translates to "baked earth" in Italian, perfectly aligned with the essence of my design due to its unique meaning.

This design was aimed at an already existing company called Hart’s Bakery. Our brief was to rebrand the design and the company thinking about the future of retail.
In the case of Hart’s Bakery, a company deeply committed to sustainability, incorporating ecologically friendly materials in their pastry-making processes is central to their ethos. While envisioning the future growth of this esteemed company, I contemplated innovative approaches. I foresaw the integration of insects as a sustainable food source, aligning seamlessly with their commitment to ecological practices.

The integration of insect-based ingredients in the baking process harmonizes well with the choice of Terracotta, a natural and earthy material.
The earthy nature of Terracotta, a material where insects are naturally found, complements the vision of embracing sustainability and ecological harmony within the baking process.

Overall, "Baked Earth" not only represents a thoughtfully designed bakery concept but also a vision for a sustainable and innovative future, rooted in the principles of nature and responsible resource utilization.
